Its all right - alot of rumours going around saying its on a lean etc but it looks ok to me - a fair bit of superficial damage to the interior like ceiling panels down and cracks in the expansion joints but building seems pretty solid. Its looking alot better than plenty of other buildings in town.

One of our boys has just come back from a stint down there; reckons the cracks are so big you can fit your hand in them, annd there's a spiral crack gong through the staircase.

Methinks you are using one eye only.

Yea there are some pretty big cracks and some you prob could fit your fist in but they are in non structural walls. The building has non structural walls around the central structural pillars during the quake the pillars knock the non structural wall causing it to crack and plaster to come off (it looks bad but really its not) we in comms spend the most extended time in here at the mo and i am not worried about the building falling down

I heard that SCC was practically empty and that North Comms had pretty much taken over all the calltaking and dispatching, bar a couple of channels?

Central comms is getting it's fair share of south comms calls too - I feel sorry for the calltakers, they're getting slammed at the moment!

I've just come back from inspecting EQ damaged properties (not inside the cordon) and to be honest the shakes were giving me the sh*ts. Don't know how you are living with it to be honest - and god knows how we are going to rebuild the place. I'll be back in a few weeks and don't really know if I want to!
