Rotorua PAT Route

Start on Hinemaru Street in between Arawa and Pukuatua Streets. Head south down Hinemaru Street to Queens Drive, turn left and follow it around (slight rise up to the big building on the right) until it loops back to Arawa Street, turn left into Hinemaru Street and repeat the lap. The second lap ends on Hinemaru Street about 20 metres short of the intersection with Queens Drive.

Aahhh, the memories...I must've run this thing 1/2 doz times before finally making it.

Funnilly enough, when I was over there for a TAG op and we stayed in that crusty old hotel near this place, I walked the route and it didn't seem too far.

But it's a whole lot different when you're lungs are bursting, theres a roaring in your ears, you just feel like flopping over and you're struggling to see around the huge pulsing red spots in your eyes..!!!

Good times.

I hate that route. First lap is sweet. The time I hit the big building at the top of what seems like a mountain I am falling apart..... I've done it three times so far grrrr

The thing that sucks about it - that stretch from the start to finish, that you run three times - every time there's a breeze it was always a head wind.
