Just wondering if anyone can tell me an average amount of overtime a new constable could expect to work in a typical station around Auckland. Cheers...

Re: Overtime
Doesn't matter where you are. If the shit hits the fan, expect to be there for a while! Could be anywhere from finishing on time, to working hours over. No real answer to that question unfortunately.

Re: Overtime
In a 40hr week, I'd average between 3-4hrs overtime. Occassionall it goes up to 5-6hrs, sometimes less.
But I had a doozy 16+1/2hr shift last week, to sort out a young burglar who stole guns intending to kill himself with it.
But it all depends on what's going on in the shift. Sometimes, you just need to stay until the job is done.
