Get the books recommended by the recruitment team, or look up psychometric testing and do a bunch of online tests. You'll get the hang of it.

I've written something similar elsewhere however will repeat it here. Now, as a former instructor at the Police Training college and someone who hss formal qualifications in education and, more importantly LEARNING, I can comment with some knowledge.
Everyone knows what you have to do to get ready for a physical test, you know; jogging, few more pushups and situps to get the muscles and respiratory system in ship shape condition.
Most people don't seem to realise that, like muscles, the brain also needs exercise. Train it by doing things like logic puzzles, sudoku and the like.
Think outside the square- next time you're at the pub or watching darts on TV try to figure the scoring- "Ok he's just scored 140 leaving 125 to finish- how can he achieve this in 3 darts" Think of all the combinations...Do it all in your head.
Train your brain the same way you train your muscles. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the results- your black jack may also improve!!
