I am the wife but have just found this forum so have created an account. My husband is 99.9% of the way through his police recruitment (has his final medical to complete and the written/typing test to do). Look foward to hearing from others and all about your journeys!! Any other partners on this forum btw??

Re: Hey all...
There used to be a companion site, policewives, but I don't know the URL. Maybe someone else could cast some light on it. But welcome and congratulations to your husband.

Did they tell your hubby what the wait times will be like for him in Taupo? Just asking as that was my posting preference. Cheers

Re: Hey all...
I tried to register but it hasn't worked. I apparently need to wait for an administrator to approve my account, it's been a week! My boyfriend is a police officer, do they need proof of that?Neats wrote:Beaten to the punch! Please do join us at Behind The Line as well, we have lots of fun!

Re: Hey all...
Hey KY, I'll check up on it for you. They usually approve you the same day into the public forums, need proof of a Police partner to get into the private forums (but nothing too hard - QID will do). Did you register using the nick KY?

Re: Hey all...
Kyz has done some investigating and it seems that Xtra's spam filters are overzealous so your email from BTL is there. She's sent you another email now, so hopefully we'll see you there soon. And thanks - you've highlighted a potential problem for all Xtra account holders!KY wrote:I tried to register but it hasn't worked. Re: Hey all...
lol i know this is offtopic but i cant pass up this opportunity - I've had heaps of problems with emails & xtra. In particular, one of my clients was getting almost her entire incoming emails put into the spam filter - and you can either individually 'whitelist' each and every sender, or in my case just turned off spam filtering and let her mail-client, microsoft outlook, handle spam filtering. this has been happening for years and pretty much every small business foolishly signs up with telecom for internet incl. emails, and then has this problem. telecom deny theres any problems (no surprises). sadly, we had to switch to xtra as our ISP recently and being a web developer i stumbled across an issue where they block smtp traffic, meaning all third-party (non @xtra.co.nz) email addresses couldn't send, only receive. the reason they did that is because they decided they couldn't trust their customers so they'd be the only ISP (in NZ, and probably the world) to block outgoing mail like that. their tech support were no help, of course, and i had to find a fix myself. end rant.

Re: Hey all...
Thanks guys. I did receive 1 email which stated to follow a link, which I did and thats when it said an administrator would approve my account shortly. But never got any other email.
So I tried logging in anyways and it would say "Thanks for logging in KY" then when it went back to the forum main page I wasn't logged in! Weird.
Anyways I try logging in again now.
UDATE: Nope still no change.

Re: Hey all...
Mine is actually the same, if I'm on the home page (with intro etc) I appear not logged in, but if I click on "Behind the line" and the top left, I am magically logged in to the forums. It's never bothered me as I assume it's related to cookies and haven't investigated further. Thanks again for bringing it to our attention - I hadn't thought others might see it and be put off! I see you're on now though KY, so look forward to seeing you around!!
